Injection Molding/Robotic Process Technician FLSA:Non-Exempt Department:Manufacturing Reports To:Production Supervisor Location:Space Center Plant Supervises:None Position Summary:An Injection Molding/Robotic Process Technicians primary job is to start up, monitor, program and troubleshoot plastic injection-molding machines and auxiliary equipment related to the injection molding process. This requires specialized knowledge of materials, specific tools, and equipment. Troubleshooting tasks might include dealing with inconsistent material, faulty equipment, human error, and preventing defects from occurring. Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and connected automated systems are set to regulation parameters, meet quality standards and all production goals. • Set up and start up molding machines, read part prints, and have a working knowledge of • hand tools to measure parts such as calipers. • Monitor and troubleshoot processing problems, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and document process change. • Able to understand and apply all aspects of scientific molding. • Identify and request mold repairs as needed. • Startup and maintain injection molding machines and adjust cycle times to maintain production standards. Being able to adjust Sepro robots is a plus. • Enter work orders into maintenance connection software. • Coordinate & escalate various maintenance/processing issues in a timely manner. • Ensure proper initial set-up and process verification. • Initial set up include correct raw material and related components (for assembly when required). • Support machine process, make processing adjustments within tolerance and recommend any changes for improved efficiencies. • Continually monitor all processes related to injection molding. • Ensure all process parameters are met to manufacture parts to the quality standards including first piece approvals and last shots. Experience: • 2 years in a position as a Mold Setter/Setup or similar role required. • 5 years working as a Process Technician with various brands of injection molding Machines. • Experience with various automation equipment including Sepro Robots. Physical Conditions: Position requires moving at a fast pace, standing for long periods of time, kneeling, raising of arms to exercise control of machine, and climbing to gauge progress of cutting. Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Exposure to high temperature in facility. Note: This is a summary of duties and tasks and is not an exhaustive list.
