SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for training employees and customers in the proper use of of revolvers, semi-automatic pistols and shoulder weapons utilizing – always demonstrating superior handling, proficient employment and justifiable use of firearms by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains the appropriate systems for the firearms training schedules. Reports any deviations / violations to Operations Supervisor. Conducts proper training evolutions in scheduled and unscheduled instances. Ensures that all instruction provided meets Top Gun training standards and goals. Conducts firearm safety and training meetings as needed. ATTENDANCE: Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Inventory Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Gmail); and Presentation Software (PowerPoint). CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: · A current and valid Texas Concealed Handgun License or License to Carry Handgun is required. · Other certifications such as NRA Basic Pistol Instructor and NRA Range Safety Officer are encouraged.
