As a SAP Systems Administrator, need to provide technical expertise by having an understanding of systems and processes. Ensure that the primary business system (SAP) reliably supports the business needs. Develop emerging technologies to support on-going operations using in-depth knowledge to develop new solutions. This includes providing support for new installations, upgrades, and patches to SAP systems, while ensuring connectivity with other business systems.

Your responsibilities

• Information and Technology: Architecture designing, installing, and upgrading SAP systems
• Resolving problems in the SAP system and configuring SAP Transport Management System ensuring successful change management
• Supporting SAP ABAP and J2EE environments
• Supporting third-party product integration with SAP, including connectivity for business systems such as Vertex, BSI Tax Factory, iXOS
• Support ABB business goals for computer system availability and performance, ensuring that the performance metric baselines are achieved
• Monitor system performance and overall health of system
• Generate and maintain key process documentation of SAP Basis processes
• Ability to work scheduled nights and weekends to achieve implementation goals
• Ability to participate in a rotation of system support calls
• Stakeholder Management: Manages relationships with stakeholders, in both IS and the business, to define solutions and ensure alignment
• Builds effective two-way communication to understand and manage expectations/requirements and gathers feedback to continually improve systems and maintain customer satisfaction
• Strategy: Keeps up to date and informed of any change, or planned change, of the ABB Corporate IS Enterprise Architecture and ABB IS Strategy
• Keeps abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and developments, including changes in business processes
• Governance, IS Compliance: Adherence to Corporate IS Policies and Procedures, as well as to both internal regulations and external legislation falls within the area of responsibility of this job
• For assigned tasks, executes all actions in IS processes according to agreed specification

Your background

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study
• Minimum of 5 years experience working with SAP
• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting business enterprise systems
• Experience with the following tools: VNC / Telnet / FTP and operating systems Linux and Windows
• Experience with SAP Basis Administration
• Understanding of Database Technology
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
