As a Scientific Developer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with PhD-level scientists on an innovative project at the intersection of computational chemistry and drug discovery. This role involves leveraging quantum-mechanical properties of molecules and applying computational tools, including the OpenEye Toolkits and Orion, to tackle challenges in drug design and development.

Key Learnings:

  • Experience with OpenEye products used in state-of-the-art scientific research.
  • Experience developing in a professional scientific software environment.
  • Experience with the application of quantum mechanics in the context of drug discovery.

What you should have (formally MUST HAVES/REQUIREMENTS):

  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Strong background in computational chemistry or a related field.
  • Good people/communication skills and ability to work as a part of a diverse team.

The following are a PLUS, but not required (preferred skills/experience):

  • Experience with Quantum chemistry software, e.g. Psi4, Gaussian, etc.
  • Good background in the foundations of density functional theory.
  • 3 or more years of experience developing in modern scientific language
