About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Computational Biologist to help drive research decisions and the drug discovery process for Treeline Biosciences. A successful candidate will be an integral part of the Computational Biology team and support scientific computation efforts from early target discovery/validation, mechanistic studies to patient stratification and biomarker exploration. You will collaborate with internal drug discovery teams and external investigators to prioritize emerging genomics discoveries. The ideal candidate will leverage publicly available data and integrate with internally generated data. Finally, you will be responsible for the design and execution of key pipeline analyses and visualizations of genomic experiments to provide computational insights and enable decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools for scientific data analysis, organization and integration in a cloud-based environment
• Design and deploy bioinformatic pipelines to process and QC various omics data types including genomics, transcriptomics and single cell sequencing
• Participate in project team activities to design experimental studies and plan analyses to ensure data are interpretable and actionable
• Collaborate with software engineers to streamline data processing workflows and enhance our computational infrastructure, user interface, and visualization capabilities
• Document algorithms, maintain code repositories and contribute to internal knowledge building

 Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or MS with 3+ years relevant work experience
• Deep understanding of genomics-related technologies and platforms, such as RNA-seq, WES, CRISPR and single cell RNA-seq
• Experience in interrogating publicly available datasets, such as TCGA, GTEx, and DepMap
• Expertise in programming language(s) like Python, R, etc.
• Experience in developing pipelines using Nextflow
• Experience with cloud development (AWS preferred) and containerized deployment tools (e.g., Docker)
• Exceptional communication skills as demonstrated by publications & presentations
