Job Description

Company Overview:Ā

Vividion is a next generation biotechnology company based in San Diego that is leveraging its proprietary chemical proteomics platform to conduct proteome-wide footprinting of drug-protein interactions with unprecedented breadth and precision. Our technology allows us to screen, identify and optimize novel drugs that selectively bind virtually any protein, including proteins previously considered ā€œundruggableā€. Our pipeline and emerging programs reflect a matured and productive platform capable of delivering first in class drugs utilizing novel mechanisms of action (allosteric inhibitors, protein-protein interaction inhibitors, functional activators, degraders etc.) against undruggable targets in the oncology and immunology space.

We prize scientific excellence, creativity, team players and we are committed to continued innovation. We have worked hard to create a collaborative and dynamic work culture where your ideas and discoveries are valued and will have an impact. We are growing and there are opportunities for mentorship and career progression.

Vividion was ranked #2 mid-size company on The San Diego Union-Tribune's 2022 Top Workplaces list.

You will work closely within DMPK team and with multidisciplinary drug discovery teams providing expert input to overcome in vitro and in vivo DMPK challenges and progress small molecule therapeutics to IND. You will help design, execute, interpret, and report studies involving small molecules delivered by a variety of routes in several pre-clinical species. This individual will be a key team member to support lead candidate identification and advancement in collaboration with colleagues in multidisciplinary teams. Modeling human PK performance may also be involved.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Represent DMPK group as a subject matter expert in small molecule drug discovery and development projects and provide guidance to project teams to characterize, select and advance covalently and non-covalently targeted small molecule drug candidates
  • Collaborate with discovery project teams to design and implement mechanistic studies to understand absorption and clearance mechanisms in non-clinical species and in human, and to address current and future ADME related challenges
  • Hands on experience in designing, managing, developing and performing in vitro ADME assays, such as metabolic stability, permeability, CYP inhibition/induction, CYP/non-CYP phenotyping, metabolic profiling in different biological matrices. Being able to interpret and extract information to support Chemists in drug design and SAR work as well as guide project teams select and advance lead candidates
  • Supervise and mentor research associate(s) to develop and implement in-house in vitro ADME assaysĀ
