Job Description

At Genmab, we're committed to building extra[not]ordinary futures together, by developing antibody products and pioneering, knock-your-socks-off therapies that change the lives of patients and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. From our people who are caring, candid, and impact-driven to our business, which is innovative and rooted in science, we believe that being proudly unique, determined to be our best, and authentic is essential to fulfilling our purpose.

The Role

Genmab is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our Reverse Translation team, which is part of the ground-breaking Precision Medicine and Translational Medicine Research teams. These teams generate and interpret high throughput omic data to uncover and validate the mechanism of action and pharmacodynamic and drug sensitivity biomarkers for our Genmab products, and of commercial and preclinical samples. The Reverse Translational Disease Biology research group is dedicated to discover and formulate testable hypotheses regarding resistance mechanisms and pathways to standard of care regimens and Genmab therapeutic antibodies.

Responsibilities

  • Research:
    • Be motivated to identify features of tumor and/or microenvironment that in resistant patients hinder the immune response to the treatment applied, and that can make the tumor vulnerable to alternative treatment approaches.
    • Be driven to understand cells, their internal circuits, and their interactions in health and disease, to discover and deliver new targets and treatment approaches.
    • Translate findings into testable hypotheses regarding rational therapy combinations or drug sequencing, design and oversee laboratory experiments, utilizing techniques such as molecular biology, cell culture, and animal models to explore disease mechanisms and potential treatments.
  • Data Analysis: Learn to utilize the vast array of internal and external data from clinical trials, research collaborations, EMRs, RWE, and commercially purchased data sets, to drive deep disease biology knowledge, to help refine preclinical and early development approaches for our Genmab portfolio, and to help validate targets and pathways of interest.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including computational biologists and oncology/immunology biologists, clinicians, and statisticians, to ensure integrated and effective research approaches.
  • Communication: Contribute to the presentation of your findings at various internal forums and meetings, scientific conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and technologies in the field and incorporate innovative approaches into research strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Learn about and to apply regulatory compliance and ethical standards of your research activities.

Requirements

  • You have an immune-oncology/oncology/immunology background and hold a PhD degree in the field of molecular biology, biomedical sciences, immunology, biotechnology or bioinformatics, or a relevant other topic.
  • 2+ years of post-doctoral experience in relevant technical field (industry or academia)
  • You are driven to provide biological interpretations of your results to teams with diverse scientific backgrounds.
  • During your PhD, you have designed, planned, executed, and analyzed experimental studies using molecular and cell biology techniques
  • You have an interest in omic data processing, data analysis and applied statistics. Experience with Python or R is a plus.
  • You are enthusiastic, creative, goal orientated, pro-active and out-of-the-box thinking with a strong ability to work independently.
  • Publication record demonstrating relevant experience.

Level will be commensurate with candidate's experience. This position can be based in Princeton, NJ or Utrecht, NL.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$75,000.00---$125,000.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.

About You

  • You are passionate about our purpose and genuinely care about our mission to transform the lives of patients through innovative cancer treatment
  • You bring rigor and excellence to all that you do. You are a fierce believer in our rooted-in-science approach to problem-solving
  • You are a generous collaborator who can work in teams with diverse backgrounds
  • You are determined to do and be your best and take pride in enabling the best work of others on the team
  • You are not afraid to grapple with the unknown and be innovative
  • You have experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic company (or a strong desire to)
  • You work hard and are not afraid to have a little fun while you do so
