Security Risk Governance Intern

About the role

Chime is looking for a Security Risk Governance Intern to join our Security Risk Governance team. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology and distributed systems alongside engineers with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

• Learn compliance and security best practices, including reviewing new compliance standards and developing security controls to protect the company.
• Build and monitor controls around software development, change management, access controls, vendor reviews, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with the cross functional partners across the company, including security, IT, engineering, data analytics, and legal to remediate high risk security items.
• Be a security advisor on new products and features.

To thrive in this role, you have

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
• Familiarity with technology collaboration tools and programming languages.
• Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Creative thinker and self starter with a passion for consumer FinTech.
• Bonus: experience with SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI, or any other compliance certifications.
