Job Description
Senior Accounting Analyst
The Senior Accounting Analyst will analyze complex financial records and reports, maintain supporting documentation to produce cost of revenue and operating expenses journal entries, and reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts. We are an acquisition-inquisitive company, and the Senior Accountant will play a key role in integrating the accounting operations of acquired companies.
What you'll do:
- Create and analyze schedules to prepare journal entries and reconcile asset and liability reconciliations.
- Participate in the updating of Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Assist Senior Manager of Accounting in pre-close Income Statement flux analyses.
- Assist Senior Manager of Accounting in mapping trial balance of acquired companies to our chart of accounts, and assist in the subsequent migration of month-end close duties of acquired companies.
- Assist in the implementation of NetSuite automation and simplification initiatives.
- Assist in the reengineering of the company's Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the strengthening of internal controls, in conjunction with the implementation of SOX 404(b).
- Assist in other business process reengineering initiatives to improve quality, controls, and efficiencies.
- Assist in internal/external monthly reporting
What we're looking for:
- Minimum of three years recent accounting experience with general ledger accounting and the month-end/quarter-end/year-end close process with medium-sized or larger (i.e., over $100 million revenues)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Inquisitive nature about how transactions affect the financial statements
- Understanding of GAAP, financial statement relationships, and how the general ledger and chart of accounts affects external financial reporting
- Ability to implement findings and memos from Technical Accounting group into general ledger accounting activities
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced Excel
- Ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization, especially cross functional teams that affect accounting, such as HR and technology teams
- Ability to produce high quality work while meeting close deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels
- Ability to handle newly emerging accounting issues quickly and accurately for a high growth company
