Senior Accounting Analyst
In this role, the Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the calculation of customer rebates, execution of variable compensation plans, including calculation and reporting, and will have various responsibilities during the month-end close process. To be successful in this role, you must have strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. You will assist in ad-hoc processes that support commission plans and other accounting functions. This is a cross-functional role where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with many departments within the organization including Operations, Accounting, FP&A, and Senior Leadership. You will be a key member of the Controllership Organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Participate in month-end close process, complete account reconciliations.
- Support the Manager of Finance Operations and Senior Director of Finance Operations on ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and workflow documentation.
- Work closely with the Senior Revenue Analyst to provide analysis and reporting to management related to the many revenue streams and products.
- Thoroughly understand and execute all variable compensation plans to ensure payments are accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policy or practice.
- Manage and assist with variable comp plan effectiveness assessment through data analysis of relevant compensation and target attainment data.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting as it relates to variable compensation plans.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships with Supplier Growth, Invoice Accelerator, FastPay, and accounting teams.
- Perform calculations of customer rebates and annual true ups based on defined contract terms.
- Support Company's SOX compliance including developing, document and review controls and procedures.
- Assist with annual external financial audit and internal audit inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 4+ years of accounting, finance, or analysis reporting experience. Mix of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP standards, as well as familiarity with ASC 606.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data mining, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills (data collection, interpretation, what-if scenarios, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
- Problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent communication and skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization.
- Willingness to respond and adjust to the changing business needs of a growing company.
- Knowledge of PowerBI, NetSuite, and Salesforce is a plus.
