Compensation Range: $102,500 TO $125,000 WITH BONUS
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
Job Purpose
The Senior Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller Americas and is responsible for oversight of the General Accounting Departmentwhich serves as a regional hub for accounting operations. This role ensures financial results of supported entities are in accordance with USGAAP. The manager collaborates with other functional areas and the Corporate Accounting team to develop, maintain, and enforce accountingpolicies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the General Accounting Team in accordance with the Company and team goals. Develop accountants, cross-train, and drive efficiencieswithin accounting procedures.
- Assure that the financial statements are prepared accurately, timely, and on a consistent basis following U.S. Generally Accepted AccountingPrinciples.
- Partner with Senior Management across all functions of the Company to assist with budget, forecast, analysis, interdependent projects, andad hoc requests.
- Communicate, escalate, and coordinate with staff, plant accountants, segment leads, functional department heads and third-party serviceproviders to obtain and/or transmit information needed for analysis, forecast, journals and reconciliations.
- Prepare analysis on high priority accounts, quarter/year-end packages, and audit requests.
- Identify control weaknesses and suggest process improvements to make sure that effective controls are maintained over the financialaccounting and reporting for the region.
- Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures.
- Create detailed process documentation, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical and confidential matters.
- Lead or support team and/or Company-level special projects. Projects may range from process improvement, standardization,documentation, integration, and automation across one or several class of transactions, departments, or entities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel may be required for special assignments.
Estimate: 0-5%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA Preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
- 4+ years of supervisor experience.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
- Experience and success working in a multi-team environment
- Professional leadership skills demonstrated through effective work habits, inter-personal skills, initiative, and follow-through. Requiresorganization and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong accounting reconciliation, review, analysis, and reporting skills
- Contract review and comprehension for accounting implications (rev rec, leases, etc.)
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Ability to critically think and solve problems that deal with a variety of variables
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Competent computer skills needed to prepare and perform analysis
- SAP experience preferred. Baan or Hyperion (HFM) experience a plus
- Knowledge of Intercompany transactions and recharges a plus
