The Senior Applications Developer IT Business Applications role is to plan, design, develop and launch efficient business systems and software products. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Senior Applications Developer is also responsible for documenting findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The individual will apply proven communication, analytical, testing, and problem-solving skills to help create superb systems and software products and lead a team of business analysts to collaborate in this effort.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports into the Senior Manager IT Business Applications and has no direct reports
  • This role requires up to 20% travel internationally and domestically, including overnight stays
  • Works with business users to develop project scope and determine requirements in line with strategic objectives
  • Researches and documents existing system workflows and makes recommendations where improvements can be made
  • Develops an understanding of how technology solutions will affect present and future business needs
  • Provides quality service by managing relationships and communication to ensure users and customers are satisfied with current applications/service; manages expectations for future work
  • Support developers and senior developers by providing guidance, coaching, training, and monitoring of results
  • Mentors team through documentation of requirements and testing of development
  • Applies knowledge and experience working with custom fields, validation rules, workflow rules, and process flows in IFS, QAD and other custom build applications and integrations.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of experience
  • Principal business applications development with strong background in technical design of systems with enterprise view and at least five years of software development experience or relevant experience
  • Experience of software system related projects, products, legacy web, mobile, desktop and task automation applications
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process, finance/accounting process, and experience working on site during research, testing and implementation of various software systems and tools
  • Knowledge in technologies Asp.Net, VB.Net, C#.net, ADO.Net, Entity Framework, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, AJAX programming, PLSQL, SQL, ASP.Net MVC, Web Services, API Programming, Azure, Windows Forms, Azure & Client programming
  • Experience with integration development tools like BTP/CPI, Rest API, and API management
  • Integration experience with platforms like Concur, Workday, Vertex, Blackline, Banks, Kyriba, ADP and AR/AP Automation
  • Working experience as Task Automate Desktop Server administration, SFTP/FTP and batch program management
  • Understanding of ERP systems like IFS, QAD, Sage and S4 HANA or similar
  • Understanding of Systems design and architecture and experiencing working as a team member
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/scrum development process, Azue Dev Ops for work management, system testing best practices, Unit testing using Nunit and methodologies and CICD pipeline process
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Excellent understanding of computer technology as it applies to business systems and software products
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels, solve personal conflicts, understand, and diagnose the causes of change resistance and initiate corrective action

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science Programming
  • Relevant project management or other professional certifications

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 20% travel requirements for this position including overnight stays both domestic and international. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
