Job Description
The IPD (Intelligent Power Devices) team is seeking a Sr. Applications Engineer who will be responsible for the development and qualification of high-side switches, efuses, controllers and low-side switch devices for the automotive market. This demanding market allows for engineers to work with various teams around the world of automotive industry titans in OEMs and Tier 1s. This job entails working with cross functional teams, field sales and technical groups to push the envelope of technology implemented in Renesas IPDs.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will participate in the entire product development cycle of IPDs and continue to support their use in customer applications over the lifetime of the part. Responsibilities include the following:
- Contribution to the definition and innovation of the device
- New silicon evaluation and validation (hands on lab work)Â
- Product promotion with customers and support for DINs and long-term sustaining in applicationsÂ
- Develop technical documentation (datasheets, App notes, user guides, blogs, presentations) to support new products
- EVB construction with Altium including symbol and footprint creation, schematic construction, and layout experience(required) and GUI software development (preferred)Â
- Ability to run PSPICE simulations
- Quick customer support including, on-site support, calls and emails with engineering and procurement teamsÂ
- System level understanding of various automotive components and achieving solutions with Renesas productsÂ
- Competitor solution analysis and market presence analysis for the automotive IPD market
- Supporting marketing activities and building and leading presentations about the portfolio to relevant stakeholders and customers
Qualifications
- BSEE (required) +4 years (preferred) of industry experience in IPD related devices or any power/analog semiconductor device related applications engineering experience.
- Willing to analyze, debug and solve a wide variety of problems.
- Willing to take initiative and openly discuss ideas with the goal of promoting IPDs efficiently in a competitive marketplace.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills to efficiently transfer knowledge to customers and field representatives.
- Technical capability and hands on experience working with power devices and power boards to understand the considerations of analog power delivery in customer applications.
- Understands the importance of customer service and relationships and strives to provide timely support with Renesas solutions.
- Willing to work across various time zones and teams to achieve fast turnarounds on engineering challengesÂ
