With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions—including digital, vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide. PATH is currently recruiting for a Senior associate to join Market Dynamics Program and work within the broader Global Health Programs Division at PATH.
The Senior Associate will support a variety of projects including projects, with a focus on understanding the market dynamics for vaccine syringes, respiratory care products and other innovations in low resource settings, particularly considering the challenges exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. For the vaccine syringe initiative, the Senior Associate will monitor market intelligence, update global forecasts and generate tools for supply chain analyses that estimate landed costs, transportation time and carbon emissions. Furthermore, the Senior Associate will support analytical requests by our partners which include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, PAHO, UNICEF, Gavi and the World Health Organization to contribute to the overarching project goals. The role also involves supporting analytics to improve access to respiratory care globally, including developing cost of ownership models, forecasting oxygen capacity and demand, and using network optimization models to recommend oxygen supply improvements. The Senior Associate will regularly present key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Associate will also work on a variety of other projects in the Market Dynamics program across a multitude of health areas. These projects will require strong collaboration with other programs within PATH, external donors (including those from the private sector), and other global health stakeholders. They will work closely with other Market Dynamics team members to define needs, conduct appropriate analyses and make recommendations on how to improve access to life-saving products.
Specific responsibilities include:

- Conduct country and market landscaping efforts and create data visualizations for country or global stakeholder presentations.
- Analyze country program data and secondary data sources, including cataloguing relevant external research and literature, to generate insights and provide strategic direction.Â
- Develop approaches and lead qualitative and quantitative research and analysis for global health products (digital, vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, and medical devices) to understand the public and private markets for these products in low- and middle- income countries.
- Develop, analyze, and evaluate market intervention strategies for target markets in global health to inform decisions of governments, donors, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide support to overall project activities and timelines while leading sub-component(s) (either market or geography specific) of the project, including managing relevant stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare project deliverables – in conjunction with others and the Market Dynamics project lead - for submission to donors and presents work to external audiences.
- Contribute to business development activities through preparation of materials and support of strategic design of proposals.
- Contribute to regular strategic discussions for project implementation or for the broader Market Dynamics program.
Required skills:
- Passionate about addressing health issues in low-resource settings.
- Ability to derive strategic insights for country and global stakeholders from qualitative and quantitative data and analysis.Â
- Proven effectiveness working in a team-based environment, but capable also of working independently and taking initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Â
- Comfortable with working openly and transparently, sharing work-in-progress, failures, successes, and lessons-learned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter and comfortable in ambiguous situations.
- Receptive to and values open and honest feedback from colleagues and stakeholders.
- Versatile and responsive working virtually and collaboratively with teams across the world.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally approximately 10-20% of the time.
- Proficiency in Excel, Python, PowerPoint, Tableau and Word required. Experience in analytics or statistical software (e.g. R or STATA), network optimization and/or geospatial mapping a plus.Â
Required experience:
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Health, Data Science or equivalent plus 3-5 years’ experience that involves data and/or market analysis or a Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years’ of relevant market related experience.Â
