The Role

Our team is responsible for scaling Lark’s business to more customers by modularizing Lark's clinical programs and developing infrastructure that makes all of Lark's core features completely configuration-driven. Our team’s microservices enable customers to purchase customized versions of Lark programs without a need for custom implementation. 
 
We need someone with deep expertise who has a passion for best practices, quality, security, process improvements, quality testing, is able to take the lead on projects, works independently and collaboratively, and enjoys mentoring others. 
 
What You'll Do
  • Lead technical efforts to scale up existing systems using event-driven architecture and functional paradigms
  • Uphold best practices by performing code reviews and taking ownership of integration & end-to-end testing for the team’s backend infrastructure
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with other backend engineering teams and DevOps to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems
  • Iterate on features based on product feedback and requests from partners and users
  • Build quality and security directly into the product development life cycle, from conception to delivery to customers
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams, mentor, share information with and learn from other engineers to drive continuous improvement of our platform without losing focus on the the user
  • Help others to thrive by providing technical mentorship to other engineers as well as participate in hiring, onboarding and training
What You'll Need
  • Experience with one or more of the following: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.JS or Java
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies such as DynamoDB, Lambdas, Serverless
  • Proficiency with microservices architecture, testing frameworks, event-driven architecture
  • Expert in designing and building scalable well documented APIs and services using REST
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with both non-technical and highly technical team members
  • Ability to learn fast and adapt based on feedback
  • We value aptitude and talent over education and experience, but you need to be well versed in computer science
  • Nice to have, experience with functional programming paradigms: Haskell, F#, Erlang, Elixir, Clojure, Scala
Working at Lark
Lark offers the option to work remotely in the United States.  For Colorado Applicants only: minimum annual salary is $161,000 (minimum salary varies for other geographies). You may also be offered a bonus, stock options and/or benefits.  The company is headquartered in Mountain View, CA.
