Senior Budget Analyst

Specialized Experience:

GS-13:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of specialized experience include:

• Participates in the development and management of budget and/or programmatic operations for a large, complex organization;
• Assists with performing research, analysis and advisory assignments related to the budget development processes, including participating in budgetary studies, long-term planning projects with supporting data analysis, and drafting portions of written justifications; and/or
• Participates in the review and formulation of budget policy and guidance for use in developing an agency or organization's integrated budget.

GS-14:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of specialized experience include:

• Develops and manages budget and/or programmatic operations for a large, complex organization;
• Performs research, analysis and advisory assignments related to the budget development processes, including managing budgetary studies, long-term planning projects with supporting data analysis, and preparing substantiative written justifications; and/or
• Reviews and formulates budget policy and guidance for use in developing an agency or organization's integrated budget.

Technical Qualifications:
Applicants who meet the basic entry and minimum qualification requirements, as described above, will be further evaluated on the following technical qualifications:

• Ability to communicate in writing.
• Knowledge of the federal budget process.
• Ability to conduct oral presentations.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Data analytic skills.
• Project management skills.
