Senior Business Insights Analyst

Job Overview

This role is in support of AvidXchange's Operations Team reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Planning. You will have a strong focus on executing root-cause analysis while delivering analytics support and key insights to Operations business stakeholders. The Business Planning team's mission is to be a systems-minded team enabling confident and fast execution of insights to actions through root-cause analysis, solutioning of business problems, and analytics support. Teammates will work in a cross-functional environment with various teams in Supplier Services as well as key partners across other organizations at AvidXchange with a goal of generating improvements in customer experience, operational business outcomes, and teammate experience.

Job Description

• Act as primary partner with Operations Leaders to define KPIs and metrics related to critical business functions
• Primary contributor and responsible party owning analytic's workstreams within operations initiatives with ability to report progresses to Senior Leaders
• Organize and execute the creation and maintenance of KPIs and metrics while generating insights enabling leaders to effectively run their functional teams
• Perform end-to-end business analysis using Excel, SQL, PowerBI, and Python/R
• Coordinate root-cause analysis and research efforts to understand operating inputs creating internal inefficiencies and/or poor customer experiences while linking and creating feedback loops around relevant initiatives
• Effectively partner cross-functionally to drive insights focused business cases and solutions to drive operating efficiencies and improved customer satisfaction
• Understand data sources and linkage to operational KPIs and metrics with ability to translate technical impacts of proposed functional process changes and drive corrective actions when necessary
• Lead enhancement efforts to data sources and architecture enabling new insights to business processes or higher levels of accuracy in reporting
• Manage intake and delivery of any ad-hoc reporting or insights requests while ensuring a high level of accuracy
• Accountable for intake and prioritization of initiatives coming from various stakeholders across business
• Proactively assign, coordinate, and organize analytics requests (report building, data management, and insights creation) while communicating progress and blockers with limited guidance or assistance
• Independently project manage multiples initiatives owned by Creative Operations Team simultaneously while ensuring high quality and timely outputs aligned with stakeholder expectations

Required Experience, Qualifications and Skills

• High proficiency in SQL
• Advanced ability to analyze data using various applications like SQL, Python/R, Excel, Power BI, etc.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
• Advanced Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

• Preferred degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or equivalent experience and minimum of 5 years prior relevant analytics experience
• Strong verbal and written communications (specifically in communicating complex concepts)
• Innovative and solution oriented perspective
• Highly organized with ability to lead multiple initiatives
• Flexibility in changing day-to-day tasks and action items to meet changing business needs
• Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company
