Director, Sustaining Manufacturing Engineering and Operation

What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for a leader in operation leading factory capacity planning, budgeting, forecasting, and communicate requirements and schedules to facilitate technical readiness with supply chain teams. This position will work closely with our manufacturing partners as well as our internal development and operations teams to deliver robust products that meet ChargePoint’s manufacturability, cost, quality and delivery objectives. You will be managing both NPI and sustaining products and from new product introduction through EOL. You’ll interact with specialists from other teams like Product Design, Technical Program Managers, Test Engineering, Manufacture Engineering team and others. You will communicate frequently and effectively to peers and leadership teams to keep them apprised of the status of the programs.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

A successful candidate must have proven experience in operation management of complex supply chain and systems. A CapEx team member has the ability to impact ChargePoint’s bottom line. The role includes the following activities:

  • Understand the technical aspects of Equipment and Tooling & Fixtures
  • Identify and drive reuse (fungibility) and cost-optimization opportunities
  • Data analysis to identify and parse process-related opportunities.
  • Run ROI analysis
  • Plan capacity and manage factory equipment budget.
  • Drive standardization in asset naming convention across suppliers and internal teams
  • Build relationships, drive cross-functional teams on consensus of opportunities.
  • Organize projects including schedules, teams, and motivation. Be able to think multiple steps ahead to mitigate project risks.
  • Clear and concise communication of Budget status to management team.
  • Manage Equipment and Tooling & Fixture forecasting and kickoff process.
  • Manage spares and maintenance plans to ensure equipment uptime
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability, and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility while stewarding quality
  • Travel internationally to support systems & tools adoption, and early project engagement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor/Master degree in engineering preferred, MBA are consider a plus
  • 5-8 years direct related hands-on experience and know-how with fast paced, product design and product commercialization companies. Been through 3+ product life cycles from inception to EOL
  • Knowledge & direct experience in NPI operations and Sustaining Operation
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Program management experience, with excellent written and verbal English communication skills required
  • Able to communicate up and across (cross-functionally) succinctly and effectively
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Up to 25% international and domestic travel may be require

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $85,000 to $152,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
