About the Role

The Senior Cloud Platform Specialist is primarily responsible for the management of Datacom Cloud Platforms with a relentless focus on continuous improvement of cloud operations and associated delivery leveraging agile methodologies. The role requires a professional technical engineer with responsibilities across a broad range of technologies. They will maintain knowledge of the technologies deployed as well as up to date professional certifications to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service.

What you’ll bring

  • High level knowledge of the various technologies underpinning the Datacom Private Cloud, such as VMware, Fibre Channel Storage, Ansible, Cisco UCS, Dell Technologies
  • Experience working in a multi-tenanted Cloud environment
  • A focus on continual improvement, working with Automation Engineering to ensure our Platforms are as operationally efficient as possible
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders
  • Implement and adhere to Agile methodologies for project delivery
  • Experience with automation languages, practices and toolsets

Responsibilities

  • The support of the various technologies that are deployed to deliver the Datacom Cloud. These technologies cover compute, storage, data protection, networking and automation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Datacom to produce a single cloud vision and value proposition
  • Demonstrating proactive ownership of identified issues as well as effective communication for suggested resolution efforts
  • Proactive engagement with customers to ensure their requirements are continually being met with positive outcomes
  • Compliance with all Datacom Cloud Operational and Information Security Management policies, procedures and processes to ensure an exceptional level of quality
  • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of current market and industry developments and providing suitable interpretation to Management and relevant staff within the organisation
  • Proactive support and management of the Datacom Cloud platform devices and applications
  • Participation in 24x7 on-call support roster
