The CDK Automation Engineering team is the team that delivers, maintain, and improves our strategic, custom-developed platform as a service (PaaS) solution, including the continuous integration/continuous delivery toolchain for multiple agile application teams delivering custom-built software. This team is responsible for designing and implementing container(k8s) and resource provisioning platform and automating processes also, ensures the usability of the tools/platform by executing and maintaining the environment. This platform is a product used by developers. It is software-defined and must operate to the standard required to protect the organization while allowing the development teams to move fast. This means the automation engineering team will be a cross-functional team combining Infrastructure professionals and developers with other expertise, such as security and DBA.

This position is for a Sr. Container Platform Engineer who will be working with CDK development team to design and deploy applications and services to our container platform. The ideal candidate must be strong in Rest APIs, Kubernetes, one of the Core languages (Java, DotNet Core, or Nodejs) and excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities as well as, must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Developing, Testing, Debugging, and Troubleshooting of containerized applications and infrastructure with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develop and implement design patterns for distributed systems. Optimizing the microservice
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and the platform
• Ensure solutions are well-engineered, maintainable and delivered on schedule
• Work with business and engineering partners to deploy new infrastructure and applications
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments (AWS and vmware)
• Monitor the availability, latency, performance and overall system health.
• Participate in On-call rotations
• Willingness to enhance the team learning environment by providing and encouraging mentorship and technical leadership

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 or more years multi-platform, multi-database, or multi-language experience.
• At least 5 years experience in Kubernetes and container runtime.
• Experience in web services, REST API and RDMS (SQLServer, Postgresql).
• Hands-on practical experience in application deployment or packaging microservices into containers for either Java Spring, DotNet Core, NodeJS, or ruby on Rails.
• 3+ years development experience in config management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
• 4+ years Linux system engineering experience.
• Experience with Log Management and Analytic tools.
• Fundamental understanding of the principals behind scalable applications.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, with excellent communication skills and sense of drive.
• Document all the things so you don't need to learn the same thing twice.
• A continuous learner and critical thinker.
