India operations of UHG are aligned to Optum. The Optum Global Analytics Team, part of Optum, is involved in developing broad-based and targeted analytics solutions across different verticals for all lines of business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• End to end experience in designing and deploying models and look out end to end productionize pipeline
• Deep understanding on Responsible use of AI
• Understanding on bias detection and mitigation strategy
• Work on business analysis requests around different business problems
• Creating analytical findings for the internal clients of UHG as per specifications received from them using information in UHG Specific databases.
• Engage in client communications for all important functions including data understanding/exploration, strategizing solutions etc.
• Mentoring and Grooming Junior Data Scientists
• Lead and Drive Knowledge sharing session within the team
• Own the technical deliveries of the team
• Perform quality checks on the analysis and data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before sending it across to the clients both internal and external
• Work with Senior team members to develop new capabilities for the team
• Looks forward to build and apply technical and functional skills
• Focuses on understanding Goals, Priorities and Plans
• Possess problem solving approach

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors or 4-year university degree
• 7+ years of experience with below mentioned skills
  • 7+ years of business experience in analytics, machine learning projects in Business Intelligence or Business Analysis space
  • Good understanding of analytics tools: R, Python, SQL, Databricks and cloud technologies
  • Good knowledge around Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics techniques like Hypothesis testing, Probability, Supervised and Unsupervised Learnings
  • Proven solid problem-solving skills
  • Proven excellent understanding of basic statistics and advance mathematics to analyze and understand data patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new data technologies
  • Demonstrated ability in slicing and dicing of data structures, Natural Language Processing and good to have fundamental understanding on Gen-AI and Large Language Models
  • Proven good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability act in a strategic capacity as a senior technical expert for all current engagements
  • Demonstrated ability lead project independently & with minimal guidance, including high level client communication and scope planning
• Proven passionate about solution or product development
• Demonstrated ability to be accountable
• Demonstrated ability to possess achievable drive

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified in Azure Cloud (AZ-900)
• Good knowledge of Business intelligence tools like Tableau/Power BI, etc.
• Proven excellent time management, communication, decision making, and presentation skills
