Schrodinger, Inc. seeks a Senior Developer II for its New York, NY location.
Duties: Responsible for overseeing technical projects of moderate size. Work with product managers to understand problems from users' perspectives, design the solution, and break it down into smaller tasks for more junior developers. Prioritize work and identify blockers to keep the project on track and demos for milestones along the way. Research and propose new technologies to improve the overall architecture of LiveDesign. Be the go-to expert on at least one area of the code - available to mentor junior developers in this area and answer any questions that come up from the team. Perform code reviews and informal mentoring.
Requirements: Must possess an MS in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer/Electrical) or a closely related field plus 2 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or closely related occupation. Employer will also accept a BS in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer/Electrical) or a closely related field plus 5 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or closely related occupation. Work experience must include applied knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Software Architecture and Design, Web Development, and Database Design. May work from home but must be able to report to New York, New York office at least 2 days per week. Salary range is from $169,229 to $194,000 per year DOE; 40
