Recursion is at the forefront of reimagining drug discovery through the integration of automated cell biology, high-dimensional and diverse data sets, and sophisticated analytics. We are seeking a Sr Director, IT Operations who will act as the primary IT business relationship manager across the organization to ensure that the implemented technology strategies and solutions meet the evolving needs of the organization and its employees. You will provide high quality “run” services  balancing scalability, availability and security for all of the IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications and Departmental Applications with a focus on accelerating the company to accomplish strategic objectives. You will collaborate with your teammates and across departments to agree on what the most important challenges and capabilities are, then figure out how to get us there.

In this role, you will:

• Identify repeat patterns of issues with the IT services, Cloud services  and drive durable improvements by partnering with the IT Engineering Teams to address these issues in a durable fashion
• Ensure regulatory compliance where applicable, and appropriate security posture for all the IT services in scope
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Create a culture of innovation, value, efficiency, and collaboration internally and externally to empower and motivate a team of technology professionals
• Manage budget, headcount, forecast, and spend for the organization
• Manage our enterprise licensing strategy for all IT services and partner with Procurement to ensure IT services spend is in line with the strategic objectives

This position is based at our headquarters  in Salt Lake City. 

The Team You’ll Join 

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer & Vice President of IT, you will join a growing IT and Information Security team at Recursion, focused on enabling Recursion to decode biology by providing world class technology services that are designed and fit for purpose. 

The Experience You’ll Need

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully running and optimizing IT technology solutions that improve employee experiences operational efficiency
• Strong understanding of IT workflows and Information security protocols related to IT systems and their impact on the organization
• Excellent project management, change management, and vendor management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on using data to drive key decisions
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization
• Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Experience and deep understanding of enterprise IT from business, technology, and operational perspectives

At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is:

• Developing: $216,000
• Skilled: $239,000
• Expert: $264,000
