Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is an essential role that is a technical lead for Ryvid Inc. existing product line and new product development. They are expected to provide technical knowledge and have extensive experience in the creation and/or modification of new electrical and electronic systems from Feasibility to Design & Development through Verification & Validation and Product Release. The Senior Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Director of Software/Firmware Engineering and work closely with the cross-functional team in a project development environment.
A successful candidate shall be a self-starter that displays strong creativity and be an expert in component and system level design, analyzing their designs using analytical methods and thinking outside the box to conceive and design parts and test rigs to evaluate new electrical drivetrain systems quickly, and efficiently. They also should be able to work with vendors to determine component performance and provide system diagrams to support the execution of product design and build.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with other Electrical Engineering team members to evaluate current product electrical performance and reliability.
  • Create an electrical test plan and execute verification testing on the subsystem and system level of the current product design.
  • Contribute significantly to the HW architecture decision-making process, including new evaluation of electrical components and interface selections, performance analysis, and trade-offs.
  • Perform benchtop and vehicle-level Electronics/Hardware bring-up & verification
  • Work with Quality, Test, Manufacturing, and Operations teams on factory, functional, and reliability test needs and plans
  • Assess, Root-cause, and resolve relevant HW/Electrical issues encountered by the team

Requirements:
  • Proven working experience in electronics design 5+ years with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree, or 2+ years with a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and fundamentals including design principles, EV elements and drivetrain systems, components, fabrication methods, and integration and testing
  • Flexible and open attitude, willingness to take risks and try new things.
  • Extremely knowledgeable in using ECAD tools such as Altium Designer (AD), LTspice, etc.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as analytical skills.
  • Team player; ability to be a peer and a mentor.
  • Able to deliver in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced working environment to challenging development schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with complex ideas to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (not limited to): Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel

Other Requirements:
  • Familiarity with electric vehicles, or the automotive industry is desirable, especially in drivetrain systems such as batteries, electric motors, motor controller units (MCU)
  • Experience in Problem Solving and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards internal teams and external customers and vendors.

Work Environment:
  • On-Site Full Time in Fountain Valley
  • Competitive salary range $100,000-$150,000
