Senior Front End Engineer

Role

• As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll lead the charge in enhancing our innovative product features, focusing on intelligence and public safety.
• As a member of our Core application team, you'll spearhead the development and upkeep of our meticulously crafted frontend library of apps.
• You'll dive into every stage of the product lifecycle, from ideation and design to prototyping, implementation, and delivery.
• You will work closely with our dynamic team of product managers, designers, and backend engineers to craft cutting-edge, data-driven applications.
• You'll engage in impactful technical and product decision-making, while also rolling up your sleeves to optimize the team's workflows and produce code that's both thoughtful and maintainable.

What We Value

• Over 6 years of experience writing production-quality HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Skill in developing applications utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Expertise in frontend testing strategies and frameworks such as React-Testing-Library, Vitest, Jest, and Playwright
• A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, performance optimization, and system design.
• Strong background in fields such as Computer Science and Software Engineering.
• Familiarity with multiple web APIs (e.g. WebSockets, Web Workers, RESTful, GraphQL, WebRTC, Canvas etc.).
• Adaptability in new environments, able to swiftly translate conceptual ideas into functional prototypes independently and efficiently.
• A keen eye for detail, striving for pixel-perfect designs and optimizing performance to elevate our product's impact.
• Passion for the latest frontend developments, shares knowledge through code reviews and internal tech lectures, and adheres to best practices.
• Recognition of the implications of technical decisions on end-users and a focus on user-centric development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, proficiency in tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Comfortability thriving in fast-paced environments, ability to manage dynamic objectives and iterate quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to learn continuously, work autonomously, and make well-informed decisions with minimal oversight.

Technologies We Use

• We are hosted on AWS Cloud and use numerous AWS services.
• TypeScript and React are central to our front-end development.
• We use MUI as our primary Design Systems and customize to meet our users' needs.
• We use Figma for Design and Prototype collaboration.
• Our backend languages primarily consist of Elixir, NodeJS and some Python.
• Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible are leveraged for our Infrastructure deployment and automation.
• Industry-standard build tooling and CI/CD using GitHub.
• A low-code test automation framework for end-to-end testing.
• A mix of open-source and proprietary technologies that are tailored to the problems at hand.
