Senior Frontend UI Engineer

Join our Engineering team based in Ireland! Brightflag’s Engineering team delivering clean code, rich intuitive interfaces and ensuring customers love using our products, is at the heart of what we do. We build a platform that is intuitive, truly innovative, and easy to use. As a Full Stack Engineer based in Ireland, you're given a real chance to influence the direction of the product. You’ll get to use lots of great tools to help us maintain product quality and team productivity.  Our core languages are Java and TypeScript for our product apps and Python for our machine learning engine
We also use everything from SonarCloud for code quality, Jenkins for build integrity, Spring, React., TypeScript and Material UI, AWS for hosting in the cloud. We also use TensorFlow and Keras for our deep learning modelling and Flask for model deployment.

As a Senior UI Engineer, you're given a real chance to influence the UI direction of the product. And you get to see your code go to production frequently, thanks to our SaaS model and continuous deployment practices. You’ll be given the freedom to fully own UI features, from design to deployment (Either as part of the team or on your own). This means your code contributions make a real difference

There's plenty to keep you learning and growing. We will support you to become proficient in full stack development, or progress your UI career. You’ll collaborate with our Architects, Leads and Seniors (Peer reviews, engineering sessions, annual Learning & Development budget etc.). • Build and design UI product features
• Build new features in the latest version of React, TypeScript, and Material UI
• Be heavily involved in the migration of remaining legacy AngularJS code to React
• Apply best practice UI, UX, and state management
• Partner with our Scrum teams working through the design of new features
• Propose and discuss alternative solutions.
• Write unit tests and partner with our QA Engineers to drive the quality and performance of your code.
• Conduct code reviews giving guidance and advice to continually improve the UI.

To be successful in the role, you need:

• Bring a minimum of 4-5+ years of front-end experience,
• Have worked with modern JavaScript frameworks - e.g., React or similar 
• Demonstrate experience interfacing with RESTful backend API’s
• Ideally have experience working in a SaaS or product company, or delivering software to enterprise customers
• Passionate about writing clean, high-performance code
• Have experience in Agile software development methodologies.
• Highly collaborative, consensus-driven
