Job Description

We are seeking a detailed-oriented professional to take on the role of Senior Grant Accountant. This individual will be responsible for the Revenue/Grant Accounting function and will assist with the budgeting and reporting process. Responsibilities β€’ Maintain portfolio of grants as well as review financial reports and invoices prepared by the Grant Accountant to ensure timely and accurate submission to government funders and private foundations. β€’ Assist with the review of invoices as part of the accounts payable process and code them to the proper expense category, to ensure compliance with government & private funding requirements. β€’ Prepare monthly journal entries to accrue grant revenue and expenses as well as to record indirect allocations. β€’ Collaborate internally with Program, Legal, and Development staff on various grants management functions such as contract registration, reporting requirements, grant details, and grant lists/checklists. β€’ Ensure financial compliance with government and private foundation funding requirements. β€’ Review and prepare journal entries and allocations, as needed. β€’ Assist the Director of Budgets and Grants Management in the preparation of the annual budget, projections, and ad-hoc requests, as needed. β€’ Assist in the preparation of funder desk audits (specifically the Single Audit, Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance). β€’ Analyze the actual revenue and expenses incurred versus the budget for the period. β€’ Additional responsibilities as required. Skills And Education β€’ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business (required). β€’ 5+ years of grant accounting experience; familiarity with NYC and NYS funder requirements (DFTA, DYCD, OTDA, etc.) (preferred). β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Word. β€’ English language proficiency (required). β€’ Must be competent in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF functions) (required); Quantitative and Analytic skills are imperative. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Schedule: β€’ Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
