Senior Infotainment RF Simulation Design Engineer

The Senior Infotainment Antenna Simulation Engineer plays a key role in delivering a radio frequency link to telematics and infotainment modules. The wireless space is an exciting growth area with the deployment of expanded data transfer and safety technology. The antenna space is currently experiencing significant growth with the introduction of 5G, V2X, Wi-Fi, BLE, UWB and GNSS technologies. In this role, you will be the center of expertise for vehicle level simulation modeling and development of our antenna form factor down to the element level. You will be directing and performing vehicle level simulation, innovating antenna physical design and developing integration criteria for our L3 antenna products. This is part of GM's shift to 100% control over our designs, moving GM as a technology leader in the industry for wireless communication. The role will require technical knowledge of simulation framework and modeling techniques. You will define standard simulation work flow process within the vehicle development process, author simulation requirements
What You'll Do:

• Lead a multi-phase process develop and implement standard simulation workflow process within the vehicle development framework
• Work in concert with our EE and RF Staff engineering team to develop Sharkfin and conformal antenna structures that meet the necessary form factor vehicle programs
• Be the primary simulation interface with our advance vehicle team to provide and virtually test our component on programs
• Define simulation models board level criteria for our build to print components
• Work with the antenna design 1st team to , validation, and systems teams as a subject matter expert for virtual antenna performance at a vehicle level
• Lead Advance Technical projects to refine the simulation modeling accuracy
• Lead an investigation to explore new antenna integration technology for future General Motor products

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• Training or Knowledge of EM Simulation Tool Sets
• Minimum of 3 years of automotive vehicle level simulation experience
• Strong leadership skills with a proven record for dealing with ambiguity
• Robust communication skills to communicate succulently across multiple levels of management
• Comfort with working in ambiguous situation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• EMC or Antenna Test methodology experience
• DFSS Black Belt

Additional Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
