Senior Manager Accounting & Reporting

Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager in Accounting & Reporting to join our Corporate Accounting team! You will help us shape the future, grow people and teams, and deliver for our consumers and customers by challenging the status quo, continuing to invest in your and others' personal development and support Altria's strategic mission and communicate financial results and recommendations to senior leadership. You will report to the Director of Corporate and Benefits Accounting and Plan Reporting, and we will rely on your expertise to provide strategic and financial perspective to Altria's senior leadership.

In this role you will:• Lead the accounting, reporting and disclosures for various assigned accounting areas including benefit plans accounting and plan reporting while collaborating with Altria's Treasury and Human Resource departments and external auditors• Lead other special projects as needed to support the enterprise• Ensure effective and efficient internal controls and SOX compliance over financial reporting• Lead and develop diverse work teams that are highly motivated, effective and drive business results• Collaborate on cross-functional teams, projects, and strategic initiatives across the Altria enterprise• Collaborate on the evaluation, documentation, and implementation of technical accounting guidance for business transactions and new accounting standards• Collaborate on transformation & implementation of processes, controls and financial systems • Lead interactions & relationships with external parties, such as external auditors and vendors

Required Skills/Qualifications Include:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance• Minimum of 8 years of business experience with a strong focus on accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and planning from Big four accounting firms and/or Fortune 200 companies corporate accounting and reporting function.• CPA professional designation preferred, Master's degree a plus• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC financial accounting and reporting standards and procedures• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse work teams and cross-functional projects• Experience in providing strategic direction to other organizations on accounting and financial reporting matters• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify and proactively propose system and process improvements• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to easily explain accounting issues and conclusions to a variety of audiences• High level of integrity and dependability with a sense of urgency and results-orientation• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail, balanced with ability to also look at the "big picture"• Proficient computer skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Hyperion/Oracle
