Collins Aerospace is seeking a dynamic and effective leader in the areas of cost reduction and cost management. As the Senior Manager for our Electric Power Systems (EPS) - Cost Reduction business unit located in Rockford, Il, you will have the accountability to 1) Support $400M annual spend portfolio across 7 different commodities and over 300 suppliers. 2) Identify and/or lead cost initiatives 3) Function as the cost management focal point for business unit and value stream challenges and drive partnership on strategic initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Leverage unprecedented growing programs/markets and drive creative cost management/reduction solutions for the business.
  • Identify new cost reduction opportunities (pipeline opportunities) to sustain current and out year business financial goals
  • Engaging value stream for platform specific opportunities (pain identification) and improve partnership through relationship building and data analysis
  • Challenging commodity to drive needed activity to achieve business unite targets
  • Managing all drivers of headwind and tailwind resulting from: Long term agreements, engineering design changes, purchase order placement, or special charges
  • Work side by side with business unit to develop macro-plan for target achievement, supported by Policy Development Progress Review (PDPR) follow through
  • Support and lead Value Engineering Events (VAVE), Product Focused Initiatives (PFI) through a cross functional team that will result in cost reduction activities
  • Drive projects to completion while maintaining a thorough understanding of risk/business concerns, while proactively identifying and mitigating roadblocks
  • Support development of tools for financial and project reporting systems
  • Maintain scorecards of critical cost reduction metrics for the business unit/major program
  • Work with commodity leaders to develop long term agreement plans that will result in year over year savings and increase LTA coverage
  • Support program passports as required to meet business goals
  • Assess and address global logistics costs including import/export requirements and how costs impact the bottom line

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated history of cost reduction and analysis
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with cost reduction tools
  • Previous experience working as a cost manager or related
