Lovelytics is seeking a skilled consultant and people leader with experience delivering and leading strategic Databricks and Machine Learning client engagements.

This Senior Manager will oversee the success of and play the Engagement Manager role on a portfolio of client engagements on the Data & AI team. You’ll define project scopes, create project plans, and manage project kick-offs. The senior manager will also manage the performance, career growth, and resources for a team of 3-6 other consultants.

In addition to the leadership capabilities for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience solving complex client problems and providing solutions related to NLP solutions, deploying AI & ML systems, data integrations, and data modeling in Databricks.

Role Location: Open to remote candidates in the US in the following states: AZ, MD, DC, CA, IL, IN, MA, NC, TX, TN, GA, CO, NY, NJ, VA, FL, PA, WA, OR.
This role is not open for work sponsorship at this time.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and across project teams made up of Data Engineers, Scientists and BI specialists, to ensure project milestones are reached within the given timeline and budget allocated
  • Work with the presales team to understand requirements from clients and RFPs to lead the delivery of creative and effective technical solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment on your team, providing direct guidance, assignments, and overall performance and professional development for direct reports.
  • Help lead the growth of the Gen AI offering at Lovelytics
  • Ensure accurate project allocations, forecasting, and other administrative tasks are completed across the team.
  • Establish data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance across all engagements.
  • Orchestrate end-to-end ML workflows, from data preprocessing to model deployment across various projects.
  • Oversee the deployment of machine learning models at scale, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Support other team members on projects, which can oftentimes mean wearing many different hats
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues on the fly with prospects and clients

Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, MS preferred.
  • 8+ years in data and ML engineering, working with cloud-based data analytics architectures and 4+ years of experience working in a consulting/professional services organization in a client-facing capacity
  • Proven ability to directly manage a team both on a project as well as organizationally, providing feedback and career development.
  • 2+ years experience on the Databricks platform implementing AI/ML projects, including production implementation is required
  • Experience in GenAI development, including LLMS and LangChain, and familiarity with standard GenAI architectural patterns such as RAG and ReACT is required 
  • Proficient working with popular NLP frameworks such as Spark NLP or Hugging Face Transformers in pytorch, tensor flow etc
  • Experience developing Machine Learning models and ML Ops processes 
  • Excellent communication skills are a MUST, this role is client-facing and managing, and this role requires both written and verbal client management skills.
  • Overall understanding of analytics from analytic engineering to visualization tools

The salary for this position for candidates in the United States is $135,000-$190,000, however, Lovelytics aims to bring in candidates in the middle of this determined band; salary determination is based on several different factors including but not limited to years of related experience, skills, and education.
