Job Description

The R&D Operations Manager is part of the Materials and Structural Analysis Semiconductor Business Unit in Hillsboro, OR. Our team in Hillsboro provides root cause analysis and metrology solutions to the semiconductor market. Our goal is to assist customers in developing and ramping up production for their advanced integrated circuits.

Position summary:

As R&D Operations Manager, you will be an integral member to drive world class efficiency and effectiveness across an international R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the quality operational rhythm by leading Strategy Deployment and guiding important metrics.
  • Build the operational efficiency and effectiveness via PPI Business System (Lean principles)
  • Contribute to establishing R&D's strategy and lead growth initiatives
  • Support key business and operational rhythms including AOP, progress reporting, portfolio plan of record and change of record processes.
  • Accountable for implementation of cost saving initiatives to increase the profitability.
  • Manage a team of professionals who deliver quantitative portfolio data, pro-actively support the delivery of the project portfolio as well as the continuous improvement of our processes
  • Develop training and certification programs on engineering and quality principles, tools, and standard methodologies.
  • Engage with other R&D departments to promote process improvements, exchange standard methodologies, and nurture talent development within the broader organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a STEM Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in developing high-performance electro-mechanical systems or subsystems for semiconductor capital equipment or related industries a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, planning, and process development skills
  • Experience working with and communicating effectively (listen, speak, present and write) to all levels of management and building working relationships across boundaries.
