Sr. Network EngineerÂ
Position Summary: The Sr. Network Engineer will work in a team environment to design, deploy, document, and maintain networking infrastructure to support Eyecare Partners network communications, telephone systems, business processes and end user technology needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of networking and cloud technologies, as well as experience working in a high growth, large enterprise, multi-location environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Communicate with co-workers, internal analysts, and external vendors to research problems and find solutions.
- Configure and deploy networking equipment as per established standards, procedures, and policies.
- Configure and deploy IP telephony equipment as per established standards, procedures, and policies.
- Implement, administer, and optimize secure network infrastructure in cloud and on-premise environments, to include wireless solutions.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Identify utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectation.
- Assist in reviewing network equipment logs to ensure proper function, proactively trouble shoot any potential trends and for ensuring the equipment remains secure.
- Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
- Assist with the creation and modification of all network documentation, Standard Operation Manual (SOM), network diagrams, configuration templates, and procedures.
- Work on various on-going technology projects as assigned.
- Provide Tier 3 support and handle escalations from Service Desk and other support teams.
- Participate in, and when requested lead, all efforts related to audits and compliance.
- Provide afterhours support (on call) on a rotating schedule.
- Travel to other Eyecare Partners facilities, when deemed necessary by IT management.
- Assists with other duties as directed by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years related experience at the same level and/or formal training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 4 years of experience effectively managing local and wide area networks for large enterprise organizations
- Experience working with multi-location networks, across different geographies, including remote management of network equipment
- Technical depth and experience with wireless and wired network technologies and protocols.
- Technical depth and experience with Cisco Technologies, IP Telephony (Cisco preferred), WAN troubleshooting procedures, cloud connectivity technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.), CIS standards, ITIL standards, and IT SOX Controls
- Knowledge and depth of experience with Change and Configuration Management standards
- Experience with healthcare systems (Ophthalmology and Optometry preferred) as well as medical device integrations preferred
- Proven and demonstrable project coordination/management skills using industry standard methodologies
- Independent, highly motivated, skilled in multi-tasking, and strong communication skills (presentation, written and verbal)
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail, with a track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Must be organized, self-motivated, fast paced, able to adapt to change quickly and able to respond to customer’s needs quickly or find the right person to do so
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and end users

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Must work 40 hours each week to maintain full time status.Â
