What you’ll do:Â
The Product Manager shares responsibility for defining and supporting the development of a virtual driver product that meets customer needs as effectively and efficiently as possible. Collaborate with a wide range of people to identify and define customer needs, understand expectations and business value, and support development of the Product Roadmap and Features required to meet these needs. Build a team of Product Managers and own the creation, oversight, and execution of processes to drive product and company goals.
- Acting as a liaison between the engineering team and relevant stakeholders. Gathering user requirements, build product requirements, and communicate to engineering and other stakeholders at all levels of planning and execution.
- Being the face of Torc to the customer and the customer to Torc, researching requests, working to understand and prioritizing feature request, and setting expectations around budget, scope, and timeline of delivery. Translating customer and other stakeholder needs to product requirements.
- Developing and improving processes and documentation to ensure cross-functional alignment between teams and projects. Leading the process rollout and iterative cycle for continuous improvement.
- Participating in regular planning exercises to drive product priorities across the company. Keeping roadmaps, backlogs, and other planning artifacts continuously up to date.
- Analyzing and understanding technical constraints and tradeoffs by collaborating with engineering to inform product roadmaps and backlogs. Selecting path forward, if necessary, with input from stakeholders as needed.
- Leading demos and continuously assess metrics to gain visibility into feature execution. Removing impediments to feature completion and business value add.
- Leading the team of Product Managers. Mentoring, coaching, and developing them.
- Setting the vision and direction for the work your team owns inside Product Management and their counterpart teams in Engineering.
What you’ll need to Succeed:Â
- 5+ years of progressive experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive, logistics, software products, or other relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years of product or strategic management experience in a technical or related program.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Business, Logistics, Analytics, or related field of study.
- Experience working with technical teams and leading others through detailed processes and results driven strategies.
- Experience in defining and implementing processes as well as process roll-out.
- Experience in the interface between engineers, lawyers, and company owners and representatives.
- Familiar with Agile principles with Scaled Agile experience preferred.
- Familiar with autonomous vehicle industry standards (ISO 26262, AVSC, NHTSA etc...).
- Systems Thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
