The Systems Architect Lab (SAL) is developing innovative technology focusing on addressing two of the key challenges facing today’s AI and HPC applications, namely memory and communication bandwidth. Using Samsung’s world leading memory technology, we will be looking at how we can design systems with significantly improved byte to flop ratios allowing improved application performance and developer productivity. We will also be looking at innovative technology for improving communication bandwidth. Most importantly, we will be looking at both from a system perspective. The effort will be across hardware including memory, networking, power, and RAS; software, including system software, frameworks, and runtimes; and application and performance modeling.
We are seeking a highly versatile Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team which is responsible for research and development of the next generation of world-class AI/HPC technologies. The candidate is expected to bring passion, innovation and strong acumen in executing large scale engineering projects from inception to production.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time OR Fully Remote, with the opportunity to work from anywhere in the United States with the ability to travel domestic or internationally when required.

- Work in a multifaceted engineering environment to coordinate cross-functional efforts and drive the project deliverables for successful program execution (schedule, budget, technical specifications, risk management, stakeholder management, and executive communications) of Samsung HPC and AI technologies.
- Plan and monitor program execution by interacting with the engineers and leveraging tools like Jira.
- Act as an interface between global engineering teams (internal) and customers/partners (external) to successfully deliver HPC and AI technologies.Â
- Apply exceptional organizational and project management practices to track program dependencies, manage new feature requests, foresee and strategically eliminating blockers, issue escalations, identify risks and initiate mitigation plans.
- Track and manage risks across the project and communicate with engineers and managers when risks or interdependencies impact the project.
- Develop and articulate project status reports and technical roadmaps to key stakeholders and management; and drive timely decision making and resource management.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of HPC and AI industry experience with 5 years in a program management role with hands on experience in managing development life cycle through design, implementation, and validation.
- Experience with customer engagements for HPC and AI technologies, in particular US government agencies such as the Department of Energy and Department of Defense is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the passion to motivate others and collaboratively work across teams to meet project requirements.
- Experience working with HPC and AI ecosystem partners (HW, SW, integrators, and technical partners) to develop supercomputer system-level technologies; ability to lead cross -functional engineering program to achieve successful execution.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
