The Opportunity

As a Sr. Rendering Engineer Mobile at Unity, you will be in the unique position of working alongside some of the most forward-looking technologists helping to advance the state of scalable real-time graphics and rendering technology. As part of our group, we develop novel technologies, delivering Unity’s product goals of solving innovative challenges for graphics and delivering value for our users. We aim to develop innovations that solve real problems, rather than novelty for its own sake. You will join forces with the product teams to help define a successful landing path for the innovations. And ensure they have real impact on the lives of millions of Unity creators.

What you'll be doing

• Closely collaborate with our other developers, technical artists and product designers to scale existing or create end-to-end systems that will perform well on high-end platforms as well as on mobile for scalable real-time rendering.
• The range of technologies you could work with cover artist-facing features for rendering Digital Humans and Creatures, Global illumination, Environment-rendering features such as water, sky, volumetrics, and more as well as evolving and optimizing our rendering architecture.
• Enthusiastically share your deep expertise in the area of rendering to help build a stronger community of graphics excellence internally and externally

What we’re looking for

• Deep knowledge of modern mobile GPU architectures (e.g. Apple, ARM and Qualcomm)
• Detailed grasp of GLES 3.+, Vulkan and/or Metal, as well as the latest methodologies for performance analysis, shading languages (e.g. MSL, GLSL, HLSL)
• Graphics profiling and optimization; Apple developer tools, familiarity with Renderdoc or ARM’s developer tools, demonstrated applied knowledge of this experience in the field of real-time graphics
• Strong knowledge of 3D math, graphics algorithms, Lighting and Material rendering algorithms.Compute shader expertise

You might also have

• Experience working with the Unity game engine.
• Familiarity with other graphics technologies (e.g. DirectX; APIs and Shading Languages)
• Familiarity with VFX rendering techniques and film or game content production pipelines are a plus
