Senior Researcher, Organizational Research and Consulting

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh’s Human Capital and Business Advisory Services (HCBAS) practice is seeking a highly organized, experienced, intelligent, and motivated Research Associate to join our Organizational Research and Consulting (ORC) Division. This job is best suited for an individual with an industrial-organizational psychology, social psychology, organizational behavior, business or related background to contribute to research and consulting projects across a variety of government contracts You will contribute to the design, execution, interpretation, and reporting of research and consulting studies employing a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The ideal candidate continuously strives to learn and develop and enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment.

*This position is a contingent hire, meaning it is contingent on Fors Marsh winning an upcoming proposal. The interview process will be the same as our standard process, the offer letter (should we decide to move forward) will serve as a letter of commitment.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide project management to support Principal Investigators and Project Directors, including:
  • Overseeing the design and execution of qualitative research (e.g., managing the development of participant/moderator materials, interview materials, and data analysis).
  • Overseeing the design and execution of quantitative research (e.g., developing surveys and analysis plans, and managing data analysis).
  • Manage the design and execution of literature reviews (e.g., oversee literature searches, summaries, and findings synthesis).
• Oversee the development of reports, briefings, and other deliverables, including generating and reviewing complete first drafts.
• Prepare research reports, briefs, presentation decks, and other external communications and oversee the summarization of research methods, findings, and implications for leaders.
• Interact effectively with project team on a day-to-day basis and work under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.
• Communicate effectively with clients with varying ranges of research knowledge and experience.
• Balance roles and responsibilities across multiple concurrent studies and/or tasks including roles with task management oversight; must be experienced in supervising tasks or project-related functions with limited supervision.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS, PhD) in social/behavioral science, business and administration, or other related technical or liberal arts field.
• At least 4 years of research and/or consulting experience.
• Training in and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Interest in applied research, with an ability to think creatively to solve tangible organizational behavior problems through research.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building capabilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong quantitative data analysis skills (descriptive and inferential analyses).
• Ability to work independently and effectively on a team while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to work with ambiguity with an aptitude for problem solving and creativity.
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver effective recommendations.
• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques to present data in different forms.
• Experience presenting statistical analysis results to groups with non-data backgrounds.
• US Citizenship is required for this position due to our federal contract requirement.
• Applicants will be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of syntax/code in statistical software packages.
• Experience in applied research and/or consulting as part of a government contract.
• Experience working with government agencies such as DoD, DHS, DoS, HHS, USDA or similar preferred.
• Experience in business development (e.g., contributing to proposal writing).

Contingent hire position status.

Salary: $92,000-$116,500
