QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in robotic and/or embedded software development with Linux platforms.
- Experience with Linux kernel, board support packages, and multiple environments for embedded systems such as Yocto, buildroot, Ubuntu.
- Expert in C/C++ coding following scalable and efficient software architecture and design principles on embedded platforms.
- Familiarity with robotics frameworks and middleware such as ROS/ROS 2
- Experience with embedded Qualcomm processors a plus
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with container technologies, e.g. Docker, and cloud services, e.g. Azure.
- Experience in taking complex software platforms from concept through production. Previous experience working with a Contract Manufacturer a plus.
- Familiarity with wired and wireless communication protocols such as USB, TCP/IP, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Robotics Software Engineer’s primary job responsibilities will include:
- Architect, integrate, and program Alarm.com’s advanced platforms in C++. This includes maintaining and building images, BSPs, troubleshooting drivers, etc.Â
- Integrate robust and efficient networking paths leveraging custom protocols. Â
- Work with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to design and implement complex real-time algorithms on mobile robotic platforms.
- Troubleshoot and debug embedded software in a Linux environment across multiple processors.
- Work with external partners to build, test, and validate production hardware and software, including calibration rigs.
- Coordinating with other departments, such as Quality Engineering, Software Engineering and Product Management to ensure on-time delivery of a fully tested and compatible platform that meets product requirements
