Senior Service Engineer - SCMS

You as a Senior Service Engineer - SCMS will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work independently in the Grid Automation field with lots of opportunity to front technical discussions with customers and travel across UAE.

Your responsibilities

• Managing and executing service works on SCMS according to work instructions and in accordance with Hitachi Energy processes.
• Delivering top-notch high-quality customer service.
• Preparing access permits, work permits, method of statements and site activity schedules.
• Supervising cubicle installation & cable laying works.
• Performing modification, extension and upgrade works including scheme checks, system power up, system integration, communication verification, signal tests, implement cybersecurity controls, cybersecurity tests, SAT, energization checks, etc.
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance works.
• Identifying technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activities in different areas (service, installation and commissioning, retrofits, technical assistance).
• Preparing Visit Reports, Service Reports, Test Reports, RCA, etc. as required on the job.
• Carry out SCMS engineering works for retrofit, upgrades, extensions projects
• Working in close cooperation with the other functions to identify digital solutions and support the expansion of the service scope on the Hitachi Energy installed base.
• Acting as resolution owner of the assigned customer cases.
• Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities and reporting unsafe practices and incidents.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in relevant field is required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in IEC 61850 based substation control and monitoring systems (RTUs and MicroSCADA).
• Experience in cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Experience with utility customers in UAE is preferred.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
