The ECUs and Middleware Team is dedicated to creating safer roads and saving lives, and your contribution will have an unequivocal impact on the future of trucking and autonomous technology. We are looking for teammates who are passionate about working in this hands-on environment.
Our team creates the hardware and software foundation on top of which the autonomy teams build their application software. Together with our suppliers we develop High-Performance Control Units, the necessary Base Software and the AUTOSAR and ROS based middleware in order to provide an abstraction layer for the autonomy teams.
What you'll do:
You will support the transition of our autonomous driving software stack from the currently used open-source software Robot Operating System (ROS) to automotive grade middleware standards. The task contains the further refinement of our high-level architecture, creation of specification and supplier steering, as well as hands on coding by porting ROS software components to a commercial version of ROS2 or AUTOSAR adaptive for the high- performance processor and AUTOSAR classic for the safety microcontroller.
- Refine the existing software architecture within the High-Performance Controller and the safety microcontroller
- Work out of collaboration models between OEM, Tier1s and Tier2s
- Organizing and moderation of international supplier meetings
- Specifying the software architecture towards a ECU Tier 1
- Specifying parts of the software architecture towards a Software Supplier
- Steering of the purchasing process
- Porting of Software Components from ROS to a commercial version of ROS2 or AUTOSAR Adaptive
- Cross-compiling of developed software components for safety certified OS and target hardware
- Porting of Software Components from ROS to AUTOSAR Classic
- Participation into a scrum team in a scrum master or product owner role
What you’ll need to Succeed:Â
- Master Degree in Computer Science, Electrical- Automotive or related Engineering Discipline and 3+ year of relevant experience
- Experience with AUTOSAR Adaptive or Classic Stacks
- Experience with ROS or ROS2
- Experience with requirement engineering
- Experience with DoorsNG
- Experience with automotive high performance processors and safety controllers
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build trust and strong working relationships, effectively create and proofread documents and reports, and communicate to a diverse workforce
