Senior Software Architect, Platform Engineering

Overview

Our mission is to build the future technology stack for our software development teams to leverage. The platform technologies we build will support the firm's entire investment process from portfolio construction to trading and trading analytics, middle and back office functions. We are seeking a senior level software developer to work with our team of experts, building new technology frameworks that allow users to access data and existing systems across the entire Arrowstreet Investment Process.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions in the following areas:

• Work with the team to architect and build modern platforms for all development teams to leverage.
• Coach software development teams on how to use the platform engineering systems we build for them.
• Assist other software development teams with building apps on your platform.

The ideal candidate is an experienced hands-on software architect who is passionate about technology and stays on the forefront of modern software design patterns. They should be self-motivated, process-driven and a problem solver. This role is responsible for designing software solutions which take complex investment ideas and bring them to life. Collaboration with other software development leads and teams is a critical part of the success in this particular role.

• Great communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated experience interacting and solving problems with users
• Maturity, accountability, and ownership of projects/tasks
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor more junior developers and drive a modern application architecture
• Good collaboration with other teams within IT and a mindset for solutions that leverages a common foundation and development principles

Technical Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience with software design patterns, and software architecture
• At least 5 years of experience with .NET / C# or Python (preferably both)
• At least 5 years of experience with DevOps / CI/CD pipelines, and Agile Scrum
• At least 3 years of experience with Cloud, preferably AWS
• At least 3 years of experience with Docker / Kubernetes / Serverless
• Experience working in a real-time event based environment
• Experience with automated testing frameworks

Additional Preferences

• Platform or Composable Application experience is a plus
• Experience with ADFS or OpenId is a plus
