Job Description Summary:

Integration & Developer experiences team in PayPal builds all public facing API products that expose various PayPal capabilities such as onboarding, payments. These APIs power payment experiences for a variety of PayPal merchants from small to large such as Facebook, Instagram, Prestashop, Aliexpress etc.

It is our goal to package the complexity of our payment system in a simple integration for our customers and provide a seamless checkout experience. We are looking for passionate senior full stack engineers to work on the REST and other APIs we are crafting for our customers.

Job Description:

Strong expertise and experience in designing high load transactional processing required.

Experience in developing highly available, reliable, and scalable solutions in Java. Expertise in either of JEE/ JAVA/ Node/ C++, SQL, PLSQL is a must.

Primary responsibility is implementing enterprise-level system designs and working with one or more development teams to realize product design and implementation.

Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities are needed for this job. 

Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, architecting, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.

Required Skills

• BS/BA or equivalent in Computer science with 5+ years professional software development experience.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and design patterns, and programming skills
• Experience in developing and delivering software and/or platforms used by other developers,
• Good understanding of web services and SOA related standards like REST/OAuth/JSON and SOAP/WSDL.
• Familiar and comfortable with the technologies, the tradeoffs, and the design patterns emerging in web services
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have a bias towards action and results
• Proven problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively both independently as well and within a team.
• Excellent knowledge of any high level programming languages. Java is preferred.
