Senior Software Engineer - BI Integration Platform

Description & Requirements

Bloomberg's BI Integration Platform team develops innovative solutions empowering our customers to make timely and insightful financial decisions. We do this by giving our clients access to Bloomberg's Enterprise datasets in the leading business intelligence applications on the market. Our connector for Microsoft Power BI allows clients to create cutting-edge visualizations and perform advanced analytics. We own the services that power this connector for both interactive and report generation use cases. We also own an array of web-based UI tools that empower users to explore their data, browse report templates, and build queries.

Our team uses a broad selection of modern open-source tools and cloud technologies. This tech stack serves as the foundation of our team's product portfolio which encompasses services, custom data connectors, and web applications.

Technologies we use: TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Apollo, Trino, Azure, Power Query (M), Kafka, React.js, Redis, Terraform.

We'll trust you to:

• Design and develop well-architected systems, using the latest cloud-based and open-source technologies
• Take ownership and lead projects
• Collaborate with multiple partners in Product, Data, CTO and other engineering teams
• Develop high-quality scalable solutions backed by unit and functional tests

You'll need to have:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
• Strong programming skills and grasp of software engineering principles
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or a strong background in other languages and an interest in learning TypeScript
• Ability to quickly embrace and master new technologies and put them into practice
• Honest approach to problem-solving, and ability to collaborate with peers, partners and management

We'd love to see:

• Hands-on experience with web development technologies, either back-end or front-end (e.g., Node.js, React.js)
• Familiarity with GraphQL or REST services

Salary Range = 160000 - 240000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
