As CoStar's next Senior Software Engineer, you will have a direct impact on highly visible web applications that touch millions of users. You continuously learn emerging technologies and architecture advancements and apply the learnings to improve CoStar's software products. We are searching for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer in San Diego, CA to support CoStar's software products.
As a member of the Platform and Auth Services team, you will be working on security related applications which are responsible for authentication, authorization, and protection of sensitive information.
This position is in our California La Jolla or Irvine offices and is a hybrid work role with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. Work weeks with a four 10-hour-day and 3-day weekend schedule are also available, if interested.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build a secure authentication system which is scalable and highly available.
- Produce bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient, and maintainable; our primary tools are C#, .NET, JSON, SQL Server, and AWS.
- Drive and lead software design, development standards, code reviews.
- Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices.
BASUC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science
- 3+ years of C# development experience
- Proficiency in designing and developing software applications which leverage both object-oriented and functional design principals to ensure defect-free code while maximizing reusability, maintainability, and testability
- Proficiency in unit, functional, and performance testing strategies and implementation
- Proficiency in developing and consuming HTTP/REST APIs
- A passion for learning new things and solving challenging problems and puzzles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience with or understanding of fundamental cryptographic operations such as encryption, hashing, and signing
- Experience developing applications in AWS, specifically utilizing Lambda, Fargate, S3, DynamoDB, and Aurora
- Experience designing and utilizing relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Experience designing and utilizing non-relational databases such as Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Redis
- Experience with NuGet, NPM, or other package management systems
- Experience with GraphQL, OData, gRPC, or similar technologies
- Experience with Protobuf, Avro, or other binary serialization formats
- Experience with or understanding of OpenID Connect or OAuth2
- Experience with CQRS and Event Sourcing design patterns
- Solid understanding of data structures & algorithms and the performance characteristics of each
