The Opportunity:
We are hiring a Senior Software Developer proficient in Go to join our cross-functional team of high performing Developers and Quality Engineers.
In this role you will help us maintain, improve, and build upon our existing Golang services which wrap our Machine Learning (ML) core logic. The output from these services is then converted into user features by our Clojure developers in our SaaS solution .
This is a remote role. Because the team is distributed, preference will be given to candidates within the Eastern Time zone or adjacent.
What You Will Be Doing

• Design and develop new features, maintain and improve existing logic, and participate in tech debt improvement efforts to improve the product as well as the development experience

• Ensuring the system is designed to be highly performant, stable, and robust to failure
• Help improve your and other's code during code review
• Writ e automated tests to ensure your code functions as desired
• Share your expertise , advocate for best-practices, and participate in cross-departmental software engineering discussions on coding standards and process improvements
• Mentor junior developers

What You Bring

• Demonstrated software development experience in Go
• Advanced skills in software architecture and design
• Understanding of SQL databases (we use Postgres)

• Experience with distributed systems
• Testing methodologies
• RESTful API use, implementation, or design
• Bonus: experience with Machine Learning methodologies

Role progression:
Within 1 month, you will:

• Complete our developer onboarding process
• Meet your team & associated leads and learn the nuts and bolts of our business and where we're going
• Familiarize yourself with our technology by pair-programming with teammates and attending training sessions presented by your peers

Within 3 months, you will:

• Work closely with your team on day-to-day engineering tasks
• Unblock teammates and ensure progress is being made smoothly
• Assist with communication and presentations to stakeholders
• Get involved with process improvements
• Participate in reviewing pull requests for your team

Within 6 months, you will:

• Feel ownership and accountability for the features you and your team have crafted and released
• Become a subject matter expert in 1 or more parts of our code base
• Anticipate and resolve technical issues at the product level
• Work across scrum teams for platform level enhancements and changes
