Senior Software Engineering Manager at FanDuel is a role where you can begin to develop your skills and experience as a manager. You will directly manage a team of Engineers and be accountable for the customer experience, project prioritisation, software quality, and system maintenance. Most of all, you are accountable for the experience, management and development of the Engineers that report to you. You set the example for our values and help engineers grow by encouraging them to contribute to cross-team technical discussions, supporting their ideas, and empowering them to make decisions. If you’re looking to exercise and develop your existing core leadership skills both from a technical and people management point of view, then this is the position for you!

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

• As a Software Engineering Manager, within the FanDuel Sportsbook Online- Platforms team you will oversee projects, software quality, system maintenance and customer experience
• More importantly, you will be directly accountable for the experience, management and development of the Engineers that report to you
• Leading by example, you will help our engineers develop and grow by encouraging them to contribute to cross-team technical discussions, support their ideas and initiatives, and most importantly empower them as individuals to make decisions
• Manage and deliver strategic roadmaps
• Develop relationships with stakeholders and refine existing roadmaps for success
• Contribute to the assessment, analysis, planning, and design of applications
• Ensure the health of Agile principles and practices within the Team
• Provide strong domain knowledge of the business
• Communication of designs, progress, and achievements across all levels of the organization
• Ensure solutions are appropriately documented, supported and transitioned into BAU
• Maintains relationships with other disciplines and stakeholders
• You'll exhibit best behavior and exemplify our company behaviors
• Measure, own and drive predictability through Operational Excellence and transparency through data and KPIs

THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate

• Proven track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams on complex software projects; 
• Experience using agile methods for software delivery; 
• Ability to work with distributed, redundant, and transactional systems and the quality assurance of these; 
• Experience managing the development of a team by ensuring that project tasks are in line with each team member's defined career path, as much as possible; 
• Experience using defect tracking systems; 
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly with regard to technical risks, issues, and constraints; 
• Strong leader and energetic motivator; 
• Ability to work well under time and environmental pressures; 
• Senior principles, leading by example, showing work ethic and passionate, professional attitude; 
• Proven track of project management; 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Team player profile, who strives to maximize team performance; 
• BSc or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
