SpotHero is a parking reservation service that helps drivers find and reserve parking at thousands of lots and garages in all major cities. We are on a mission to bring the parking industry into the future through technology. Drivers in the U.S. and Canada use the SpotHero mobile app or website to reserve convenient, affordable parking on-the-go or in advance, and parking companies rely on us to help them reach new customers while optimizing their business. Senior / Staff Data Scientist @ SpotHero: 

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will lead cross-functional modeling initiatives across the company. You will design, implement, and analyze experiments on user behavior. You will be a full stack data scientist not only capable of creating machine learning models and deriving insights from various data sources, but also building out infrastructure that supports fast, safe, and scalable model development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute projects geared towards user acquisition and retention to drive revenue
• Deliver AI-powered products and features that create a frictionless experience for our customers and internal stakeholders
• Create the foundation of ML model building through all phases of development including robust production deployment. Be rigorous in design and create modularity and microservices when applicable.
• Conduct experiments and make use of best practices and emerging technologies in the A/B testing space to determine how various features and changes affect user behavior
• Analyze large amounts of data to deeply understand our customer segments and work cross-functionally to identify ways to personalize the experience of these various customer types
• Define and track core metrics to elucidate the success of our initiatives, features, and products. Externally communicate these via dashboards and reports to communicate progress.
• Be a thought leader and challenge conventional ways of thinking throughout the business to understand and identify pain points and improve the status quo through data-driven solutions
• Obsess over the customer journey and at what points data can make an impact to create a better user experience

About You: 

• You are comfortable working with stakeholders across the business and excel at defining and honing product requirements.
• You have success metrics at the forefront of your mind. You’re no stranger to production-level monitoring and can quickly determine when something is off course. You envision what a successful end state should look like before you even begin.
• You are comfortable presenting results to executives and non-technical stakeholders and you embrace taking a stance and making recommendations.
• You are autonomous and able to work independently but know when to ask questions. First and foremost, you seek clarity and understanding.
• You wear many hats and can see problems through the perspective of the customer, the UX designer, the product manager, the CEO, and so on. 
• You prioritize practical solutions that deliver business value over flashy trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of professional experience in data science 
• Must have experience with AWS services (lambda, s3, sagemaker, redshift, cloudwatch) or equivalent experience in GCP
• Must be able to write effective SQL queries
• Must have Python experience writing production-level code, testing, CI/CD, and docker (bonus: kubernetes)
• Proven track record of designing, delivering, and productionalizing AI-driven business solutions and products.
• Experience using Airflow (or similar technologies) to develop data pipelines
