Senior Manager, PCBA Design

What You Will Be Doing
  • Developing state-of-the-art EV charging and support equipment.
  • Designing AC charging sub-systems from architecture/block diagram stage to mass production per product and regulatory requirements.
  • Research, design and develop contemporary; processor, networking, user interface, sensor, safety, and charging electronics for ChargePoint’s industry-leading products.
  • Deliver designs optimized for multiple dimensions including; cost, reliability and feature richness.
  • Drive system architectures and distill hardware components into subassemblies, circuits, and board designs.
  • Develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to full-scale system design and see those systems all the way through to volume manufacturing and field deployment.

The process involves:

  • Analog and power component selection, circuit design, simulation, and test.
  • Schematic entry, NetList generation, Layout constraints and placement & routing oversight.
  • DFMEA/FMEA analysis and hardware safety testing.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
  • Strong electrical/electronic design skills and understanding of system level engineering tradeoffs.
  • Experience designing with a variety of the latest; embedded processors, interfaces, peripheral devices and sensors.
  • Expertise in the design and implementation of: high-speed interfaces, processors, memory, power, analog sensing and control circuits.
  • Must be inventive, curious, and creative as well as fanatical about cost, quality, and building market leading products.
  • Able to drive hardware designs across software, mechanical, power and thermal boundaries to assure great results.
  • Knowledge of C development in embedded context. Ability to read and debug ARM assembly code.
Requirements
  • Must have 5+ years of experience successfully developing complex Analog and Power Products.
  • Excellent knowledge of hardware design concepts such as EMC, decoupling, high voltage creepage/clearance, CMTI, fault tolerance, return paths.
  • Experience with mixed signal design involving high-accuracy metrology and/or analog signal conditioning.
  • Knowledge of offline PSU design and compliance.
  • Experience with bringing your product up to compliance via 3rd party such as UL, CSA, VDE or others.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and design according to safety or general standards.
  • Ability to debug tough EMC problems and solve in economical way.
  • Experience with basic microcontroller peripherals/interfaces such as SPI, UART, I2C, ADC.
  • Ability to use advanced simulation tools to verify designs (SPICE, magnetics, thermal).
  • Previous experience with UL1998, UL991, IEC61851 standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or related discipline.

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $105,000 to $229,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
