The Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. Within DS, the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (DS/CTO) contains the staff, resources, authority and responsibility for managing and implementing the priority IT program requirements of the Bureau in a manner that facilitates the achievement of the Bureau performance goals. This team of cleared technical specialist will:Β 1) sustain engineering and Tier III support for existing services, implement additional enhancements, and facilitate moves of such systems to Cloud based infrastructures or architectures.
Western Door Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer Β in the Washington,DC area. The objective of this work is to work to implement and manage Active Directory Domains and development required system designs.Β
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with the stakeholder community to determine system requirements
- Implement and manage Active Directory domains and forests at an enterprise level across multiple physical locations
- Develop and document required system designs for design reviews
- Preparing system design documents using MS Visio
- Working with DoS and service provider staff to migrate on premise services/systems to cloud environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience managing and maintaining Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) environments based on Windows Server 2008 and 2012
- Experience managing Active Directory-integrated DNS and DHCP solutions
- Experience with Active Directory re-structuring and object migration
- Experience with Group Policy design, management and troubleshooting
- Experience with LDAP-based identity management solutions
- Experience with identifying and resolving AD performance, reliability, and security issues
- Experience with providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and posses a Top Secret security clearance
- Good working skills in Microsoft office (Word PowerPoint, Project, and Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills: Applicant should possess the ability to communicate technical and project information to management. Applicant will also assist with authoring and presenting technical detailed implementation and deployment plans
- Be a self-starter who takes responsibility for completing assignments on time
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud based environments (i.e., Microsoft Office365 and Azure technologies) and cloud infrastructures (i.e., IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
- Good working skills in Remedy trouble ticketing and asset management system
- Experience with developing scripted solutions using Microsoft PowerShell
- Experience with enterprise PKI solutions
- Previous working experience at DoS is desirable, but not required
