Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 Firm and the leading global immigration services provider, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist for our growing Worldwide IT Operations team.

The Senior Systems Engineering Specialist is responsible for responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software as it relates to the firm's infrastructure. Responsibilities include the design and deployment of new solutions that are necessary to meet the firm's technology goals. The key area of focus will be in supporting the firm's virtualization infrastructure, including deployment of new systems, configuration/tuning of existing systems, and continued maintenance of systems within the global infrastructure. Other responsibilities will include on premise Active Directory, AWS and Microsoft Azure Management & administration and working with the network and security teams to provide a secure and efficient infrastructure. Documenting technical infrastructure solutions that fit within our short- and long-term roadmaps. Focus is on design, delivery, installation, maintenance and support of the Firm's global IT systems based on Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Redhat Linux, Exchange, Citrix, VMWare and other Windows-based server products at an advanced level.

How you will make a difference as a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist with Fragomen:

• Identify and define requirements, design, develop, install, configure, test, and implement information systems technology solutions to a global enterprise environment.
• Provide support and maintenance of the firm's global server platform including but not limited to pro-active system monitoring and Operating System (OS) patching using tools such as Logic Monitor, SCCM and Ansible.
• Management and support of the Active Directory environment.
• Management and support of the Windows server environment, including Server 2012 (in process of being replaced), 2016, 2019 & 2022.
• Management and support of the RedHat Linux environment, including RHEL 7 and above.
• Ensure systems achieve 99.99999% up time in a 24/7/365 environment.
• Analyze, plan, test and document implementations of new hardware and software systems.
• Manage and create application packages and ensure delivery to all server infrastructure.
• Act as a resource to support all technical projects assigned by management or project management.
• Act as an escalation for all technical issues relating to Co-Located, Office Based and cloud based systems.
• Create documentation on system designs, procedures, and processes.
• Use tools like PowerShell, VB Script, batch files to configure a computer environment.
• Engineer and maintain the firms Virtualization platforms. This includes configuring and deploying VMware (6.7+) across global datacenters, local offices and ensuring a unified environment.
• Maintain and configure the firms Cloud Virtualization platforms on VMC, AWS and Azure, ensuring a unified experience between on-premise and cloud offerings.
• Support the firms storage area network, including Pure and NetApp Storage technologies.
• Support the firms Computer hardware including varieties of Cisco UCS (Flash Stack) and Nutanix.
• Support IPAM/DNS/DHCP within the firms Infoblox Grid.
• Support and implement DFS & File shares.
• Manage and maintain the firm's backup infrastructure using Veeam.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
• Provide documentation and analysis post system outages, providing RCA (root cause analysis).
• Ensures requirements are met and regularly evaluates performance
• Performs analyses at all phases of product development life cycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Performs system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessments, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses of total systems throughout the system lifecycle
• Propose strategy development and review as needed

Let's talk if you have the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5-7 years) in system administration and deployment in a technical field plus including hands-on, related enterprise systems engineering experience
• Systems integration engineer at a senior level (3 plus years) experience with identifying and defining requirements, designing, developing, installing, configuring, testing, and implementing information systems technology solutions to large-scale global environments
• Utilization of change management/change control processes and procedures.
• Proven experience in documenting system requirements, design, implementation, and operations document deliverables.
• Knowledge of Windows Clustering technologies such as "Always-On"
• Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions such as NetApp, Pure and other SAN technologies
• Familiarity with enterprise compute systems such as Cisco UCS and Nutanix.
• Experience in infrastructure orchestration tools and automation platforms - Ansible, Azure Automation, Windows DSC
• Experience in systems hardening based on industry standards - NIST , CIS, PCI
• Experience or understanding of large scale enterprise systems (network, systems, storage, security)
• Experience designing large scale user stores/authentication
• Experience in public and private cloud platform and hyper converged technologies
• Excellent systems/network troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex problems.
• Extensive experience supporting web-based and database centric applications
• Experience with highly available technologies
• Knowledge of enterprise application technologies and architecture
• Ability to take ownership of an issue, problem, or project and see it through to completion
• Ability to design and implement solutions with sensitivity toward project timelines and budgets
• Necessary skills include flexibility, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills, excellent communication, exceptional collaboration and organizational skills
